Just Rude, formerly known as High Def is an Edmonton-born rapper who found a love for hip-hop at the age of 13. He began writing and free styling in community events and parties in his younger days, quickly growing an impressive skill set. At the age of 18 Just Rude started recording music full-time and has since worked with many different underground Canadian artists in various studios, further perfecting his craft.

Balancing his love of music with his responsibilities as a single father, Rude has performed countless shows, steadily growing his fanbase with releases of 8 mixtapes to date. His lyrics illustrate a life full of hardships - from addiction gripping those closest to him, to the individual and universal effects of the torn world around him. Just Rude moved from city to city, coast to coast, sharing his journey with the world through his music. Completely self-taught, he has single-handedly built a platform for himself through recording, designing, and the filming and production of music videos. 

 

In 2022 Just Rude and long-time brother Deffine threw all the cards on the table, joining forces to create More Than Murder Records. In recording his debut album, Elevated, which was released in early 2023,  Rude is setting the bar higher than ever before. There is no lack of effort put into this project.
