​Ty, professionally known as SOUP, is a forward-thinking producer from Maskwacis, Alberta, carving his own lane in modern hip-hop while staying rooted in the soul of classic sound. With over five years of consistent production—and nearly a decade of hands-on experimentation—SOUP brings both hunger and maturity to every beat he touches.

Raised in a musically gifted family, SOUP’s connection to sound started early. Surrounded by guitars, live bands, and jam sessions through his family in Saskatchewan, music wasn’t a hobby—it was the environment. That foundation evolved into production after discovering Scott Storch, whose melodic influence pushed SOUP to officially step into beat-making and never look back.

Sonically, SOUP lives at the crossroads of trap, boom bap, and new-school experimentation. He grew up on trap EDM and trap rap, but his respect for old-school hip-hop bleeds through in his arrangements and rhythm choices. Influenced by legends and innovators like Scott Storch, Juicy J, Saint JHN, Mac Miller, Beastie Boys, and Run-DMC, his beats balance modern energy with timeless texture.

Emotion drives SOUP’s production. His beats carry raw feeling—sometimes dark and cold, sometimes reflective and melodic, and sometimes riding the line in between. Rather than forcing a formula, he creates based on mood, instinct, and the state of the world around him, allowing each track to grow naturally.

Creatively, SOUP values clarity. He often builds alone first, shaping the vision before opening the door to collaboration. When working with artists, he listens deeply—adapting his sound to their style while pushing them forward. His workflow isn’t locked to one system; he uses multiple DAWs and plugins, believing that different tools unlock different sonic possibilities.

SOUP is an active producer for More Than Murder Records, while also producing for Currency Gang Music and AMF. With multiple projects currently in motion, he’s less focused on chasing numbers and more proud of everything he’s created, released, and contributed to—each step forward adding to the bigger picture.

For SOUP, producing is more than music—it’s mental repair. It helps him process life, stress, and emotion, turning chaos into creation. His goal is simple but powerful: to make listeners and artists feel joy, connection, and understanding, and to give artists a sound that reflects exactly what they’re going through.

Looking ahead, SOUP is focused on expanding alongside his people, building the More Than Murder movement, and uplifting those around him. He’s driven by unity, growth, and legacy—wanting MTM to be known not just for music, but for being a place where artists are supported and understood.
