In order to understand More Than Murder Records, you’ve gotta know the legacy behind it. This didn’t fall out of the sky—this came from years of grinding, growing, setbacks, and steps past.

Founded by Deffine in 2011, MTM started as a mixtape that carried a meaning bigger than the music. As time moved, the vision got sharper. Deffine built MTM Studios to create a real platform—professional recording, clean mixes, heavy masters, original beats, and the kind of industry game that most artists never get access to.

By 2022, More Than Murder had outgrown being just a name, a studio, or a tagline. The lane was wide open, the momentum was real, and it was time to level up. That’s when More Than Murder Records was born.

This label carries decades of lived experience, lessons, mistakes, and wins from deep inside the hip-hop world. MTM stands for timeless music, raw, unapologetic creativity. With a roster consisting of only a few artists, you would think there is an army within their wheelhouse.    Every artist brings their own grit, their own story, their own fire—and together, the energy spreads fast. Always evolving, and always coming with heat.
