In order to understand More Than Motive Records, the history of an evolving legacy must be told.
Founded by the artist Deffine in 2011, MTM started as a mixtape titled More Than Murder. As time moved on, More Than Murder continued to grow, with Deffine expanding his involvement in the industry by forming MTM Studios. Creating a platform for himself and other artists to get professional and quality recording, mixing, mastering, beats and industry know how.
After perfecting his skills in the studio, the idea of More Than Murder fell into the shadows. Many years passed before the voice of the beast returned with a vengeance, growing louder than ever before.
In 2022 Deffine joined forces with long time brother and collaborator High Def, turning More Than Murder into something larger than a title, a studio or a slogan. The path much clearer now that the door had been kicked open, a transformation was necessary. More Than Motive Records was born.
A new label backed by lifetimes of knowledge in the music industry, More Than Motive is about creating timeless music for rap and hip-hop fans alike. Bringing forward different experiences, perspectives and styles from its artists to the world at large. Always learning, yet exceeding expectations and growing like wildfire; producing heat, moving fast and staying unpredictable.

More Than Motive Records always has its artists as top priority; however we are proud to be able to offer many services to the music industry. We offer skilled services to the right individuals from a magnitude of divisions.
From studio (production, recording, mixing, mastering and promotion) to ghost writing and collaborations, photography, film production, graphics and design, we can make any dream become a reality. Our in-studio and on-location filming can bring to life multi-level concepts including music videos, commercials and short features. Planning, locations and props can also be offered for a price. Prices for all services may vary from artist to artist.
